Disney Dole Whip

Are you on the hunt for Disney Dole Whip? Have you seen photos of a deliciously fruity dessert gracing your Instagram feed? If you want to learn about Disney’s yummiest frozen treat, simply read ahead!

If you’ve never heard of Disney Dole Whip, then you’re seriously missing out.

Brimming with flavor and acting as the perfect accompaniment to a hot summer’s day in the parks, it’s basically Disney’s gift to sweaty tourists who are battling against Florida’s sometimes-brutal heat.

If you want to learn all there is to know about Disney Dole Whip, why it’s so popular, and where you can get your hands on some, then I’ve got you covered.

What is a Dole Whip at Disney?

Disney Dole Whip is essentially a pineapple-flavored soft-serve dessert that’s sold at Disneyland, Disney World, and a few of Disney’s hotels.

You’ll typically find it served in a cup (or glass if you’re grabbing it outside the parks!), and it’ll often be topped with an adorable maraschino cherry/Polynesian paper umbrella combo.

It’s uber fruity, and it has the texture of regular soft-serve ice cream.

Although it’s billed as a dessert, I’ve never found it too sweet and think it balances tartness and sweetness perfectly.

Oh, and one more thing – it used to be a dairy-based snack, but as of 2013, the original Disney Dole Whip flavors are officially vegan!

It’s worth noting that new additions tend to be blended with vanilla ice cream or sodium caseate, but any old-school flavors are typically fair game.

The History of Disney Dole Whip

Believe it or not, the Disney Dole Whip story dates all the way back to 1973 when Dole Packaged Foods became an official sponsor of the Enchanted Tiki Room.

Customers were blown away by the company’s fresh pineapple juice and spears, and it was the snack of choice until 2011 when Aulani first opened its doors.

This was when the famous Disney Dole Whip truly came to fruition, and Disney-goers couldn’t get enough of the smooth and fresh taste of this pineapple soft serve.

Since then, it’s been a staple treat across the American Disney parks, several resorts, and the Disney Cruise Line

The more you know, right?!
