Disneyland Paris does an amazing job of combining traditional Disney magic with a beautiful, Parisian vibe – if you’re looking for the best rides at Disneyland Paris for families with young kids you’ve come to the right place. Specifically intended to be the most beautiful park aesthetically by Disney’s Imagineers the attention to detail in this park is truly extraordinary. With two incredible theme parks (Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park), there is much to explore in Disneyland Paris for the entire family.

Whether you’re a family of thrill seekers or are travelling with young’uns, this list should prove a great springboard for planning your must-visit rides when visiting Disneyland Paris. If you’re travelling from abroad and only have a couple of days to visit the parks, then you’ll want to make sure you try to tick each of these off, as they truly are the jewels in Disneyland Paris’s crown. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the magic and explore the best rides at Disneyland Paris for families with young kids!

Dumbo the Flying Elephant

First on my list of the best rides at Disneyland Paris for families with young kids, it’s Dumbo the Flying Elephant! Most definitely a ride that’s suitable for all ages, this is one of Disneyland Paris’s most popular rides. Though it’s not quite as exciting for adults as it may be for little ones, it’s an incredibly nostalgic staple flying ride that’s based on Disney’s classic animated film.

During the ride, kids tend to love using the built-in joystick to manoeuvre their personal flying machine and feeling the wind on your face in the peak of summer is incredibly refreshing! Though queues for this one tends to be rather long, it’s worth it for youngsters that have always wished to fly.

Peter Pan’s Flight

Next on my list of the best rides at Disneyland Paris for families with young kids, it’s Peter Pan’s Flight! Another ride that’s based in the heart of Fantasyland is Peter Pan’s Flight. Perhaps home to the longest wait times in the park (for good reason), this one is a cult classic that absolutely must make it onto your list of things to do in Disneyland Paris. On this ride, you’ll swoosh through the night sky in a magical ship and soar across both London and Neverland on a magical dark ride.

Perfect for children due to its calm style and excellent lighting, it’s a beautifully designed ride that has some stunning detailing. See if you can spot the London traffic moving along in miniature as you soar above the city! I highly, highly recommend grabbing a FASTPASS at the beginning of the day for this, as the queues simply never peter out over the course of the day.

Buzz Lightyear’s Laser Blast

A great ride for the more competitive members of the family, this one is a whole bunch of fun. Just jump into your space cruiser to embark on a quest to defeat Emperor Zurg in an intergalactic battle. With bright displays, point-scoring that compels you to come back for another try and classic references to the Toy Story movies, it’s a must-visit. Kids tend to love being able to control their own space cruisers and feeling like you’re in a real-life video game is certainly exciting for all!

Another ride that lets you collect a FASTPASS, it’s an easy one to fit into your day. This really is a great option for the best rides at Disneyland Paris for families with young kids!

Pirates of the Caribbean

Though this ride may be slightly scary for extremely young children, it’s a Disneyland staple across the world for a reason. With amazing music, awesome scenes that depict the best of a pirate’s life and more than a sprinkle of classic Disney magic, this ride is a must-do. Not only is this ride a classic, but it guarantees a swashbuckling good time!

Though you’re unlikely to get properly wet, be aware that there may be a slight splash if you’re right at the front of the boat. Most kids love this, which is why it’s a top choice for the best rides at Disneyland Paris for families with young kids. With this ride, be sure to check out your ride photo just prior to entering the gift-shop, as this tends to illicit a few giggles from kids and adults alike.

It’s A Small World

Everyone knows the classic song, and this ride is perfect for young children who are new to Disney parks. With stunning scenery that introduces them to different cultures, it’s a foray into the wider world that’s presented in an extremely friendly (and catchy!) manner. This ride has incredible attention to detail, and the adorable dolls will have you spotting different details each time you ride.

Phantom Manor

Another ride that’s a bit spooky yet still family friendly is Phantom Manor. Having undergone a massive renovation, it’s more up to date than ever with awesome effects and spooky scenes. Following the story of Melanie, the bride that has spent an eternity searching for her missing groom, it’s a unique ride to Disneyland Paris that has an amazing backstory.

As this ride isn’t the typical Haunted Mansion ride and was designed to fit with the aesthetic of the surrounding Frontierland, it’s an incredibly interesting feat of Imagineering that should absolutely be experienced. Having been absolutely obsessed with this ride since the ripe old age of four, I can attest to the fact that this ride’s beautiful music and stunning layout is more likely to entrance than frighten even the youngest children.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves

A dark ride that’s intended for families, this adorable retelling of Disney’s famous 1937 movie is a joy to witness. Though it’s got some slightly scary imagery that may frighten extremely young children, most of them handle it just fine! With great animatronics and a length that won’t have kids twitching or getting impatient, it’s an excellent family ride that tends to have short queue times. A great choice for the best rides at Disneyland Paris for families with young kids, and it’s one your kids will recognise instantly from the classic movie.

Crush’s Coaster

Now, this ride is EXTREMELY popular. Often boasting queue times of 75 minutes or more, it’s one that requires a bit of patience. However, it’s easy to see why this ride is one of Walt Disney Studios’ best rides. In this ride, you’ll board a turtle shell and propel through memorable moments from the famous Finding Nemo. With twists, turns and familiar faces that greet you throughout the ride, it’s a turbulent and exciting journey into the big blue sea. Looking to mimic the churning of the East Australian Current, it’s a great ride for the whole family that is absolutely worth the wait time!

Ratatouille: The Adventure

This is a must-do ride due to its uniqueness and execution. An amazing feat of engineering that shrinks visitors down to the size of a rat, this 4D adventure is both geographically appropriate and full of Disney Pixar magic. In this ride, you need to escape from Chef Skinner who chases guests throughout Gusteau’s famous restaurant! With one of the most charming waiting areas in Disneyland Paris (you get Gusteau’s words of wisdom echoing throughout the wait area as a bonus), it’s easy to wile away the queue time here. As this ride only exists in Paris, be sure to hit it up if you’re travelling from abroad!

Big Thunder Mountain

Last on my list of the best rides at Disneyland Paris for families with young kids, it’s Big Thunder Mountain! Based in Frontierland, Big Thunder Mountain surely lives up to its name of the Wildest Ride in the West. Taking place on a runaway mine train, this ride rattles your family through steep heights and awesome dives as you attempt to make your way through the haunted mountain! One of Disneyland Paris’s most famous rides, it tends to see long queues. However, if you plan your time right, you can grab a FASTPASS and sail through the queue!
